Specialist registrar ( ST7) in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, The Royal Free London NHS Trust
Dr Sevastru completed his training in the North Central London School of Anaesthesia. Clinically, his areas of interest include anaesthesia for major abdominal surgery (including liver and renal transplantation), complex vascular surgery, major trauma and head and neck surgery. His non-clinical areas of interest are: patient safety, translational simulation, team ergonomics and system engineering in healthcare. He has considerable experience in running high fidelity multidisciplinary simulations in conjunction with a modified Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) tool in order to identify latent risks and reduce harm in healthcare. He designed and ran the International survey of hospital airway rescue practices (iSHARP). This survey explores the variation in practice in regards to the emergency front of neck access (eFONA) with a focus on technique, governance, training and equipment.
