Teresa has 32 years of experience in financial services, with the majority of that time being spent with three companies: Bankers Trust, Fidelity Investments and, most recently, TIAA, where she led the company's Institutional Retirement business serving more than 16,000 higher education, state government and other nonprofit organizations. Her deep industry expertise includes executive roles encompassing all aspects of relationship management and service delivery as well as in strategy & planning, product & services management, customer loyalty analytics and participant education and advisory solutions for clients in both the public and private sector.
Beyond retirement, Teresa has led HR & Payroll outsourcing, investment marketing & measurement, and investment product development, both in the US and abroad. As a business leader she is passionate about building engaged, diverse and inclusive teams who share a commitment to delighting clients by improving financial outcomes for plan sponsors and their participants. In particular, Teresa is dedicated to ensuring that that employees at every level and of every background have an equal opportunity to become financially secure for their entire post-work lifetime. Teresa is committed to education in the retirement area and beyond.
A fervent supporter of both financial literacy and women’s leadership, she championed TIAA’s Woman-to-Woman Financial
Empowerment Series, and sponsored TIAA’s Women’s Employee Resource Group. She is a familiar speaker at both industry and general leadership workshops and events.
In addition, she has been involved with nonprofit organizations such as Jobs for the Future and City Year. Her own formal education took place at Vanderbilt University, where she received her BA, and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where she received her MBA. Teresa lives in Carlisle, MA with her husband Mike. They have four children - Ben, Allie, Caroline, and Hannah. As a family they love to travel, ski, hike and cook.
