Leveraging Hauler Resources for County Zero Waste Schools Program This part of the session will focus on how private waste hauler Marin Sanitary Service utilizes its own education program and staff to partner with the County of Marin and SEI to support school sites enrolled in its Zero Waste Schools Program. The session will touch on strategies in partnership development, education and training, infrastructure, and school onboarding. It will also cover how the MSS Schools Coordinator assesses school waste streams to ensure delivery of correct services, and continues monitoring to adjust service as schools improve recycling and composting efforts. The session will focus on how all parties are able to work together to provide comprehensive school site support, as well as how this close partnership has allowed MSS and the County to prepare other schools for future enrollment in the program. This has facilitated faster and more efficient site launch as the program and partnerships have grown, which helps the County move the needle on zero waste.
