Franco Mascayano is an early-career investigator currently based at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and New York State Psychiatric Institute. His expertise considers applied research in stigma, mental health services, global mental health, and psychiatric epidemiology. He has led and co-led several studies both locally (USA) and globally (Latin America). He has published a series of peer-reviewed articles in high-rank journals and many book chapters. He is now part of an early psychosis program called “OnTrackNewYork”, which is aimed to provide specialized mental health care to those experiencing early psychosis in New York State. He is the general coordinator of the COVID-19 HEalth caRe wOrkErS (HEROES) study, a multisite cohort study aimed to describe, examine, and evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health and social factors among workers at health services.
