Paul Taranto is the current Operations Specialist at Qenos. His remit includes supporting the Altona Olefins Operations Team Leader and mentoring the Lead Engineer of a team of four process engineers that provide day to day support of the Olefins Altona plants.
A qualified team leader in both hazop and incident investigation. He is a member of Olefins operations integrity committee and project co-ordinator and hazard risk assessor. Paul completes major process hazard assessments where he develops, delivers and assess safety management systems.
Paul has completed a Batchelor of Engineering (Chemical) (Honours) from Monash University, Master of Business Administration from Deakin and is a Board member and Fellow of Institution of Chemical Engineers Australia (FIChemE).
He has over 44 years’ experience in petrochemical operations, oil and gas operations and natural gas commercial activities in companies such as Qenos, Kemcor and ExxonMobil.
Paul is the past Chairman of the Victorian Joint Chemical Engineering Committee, and he is the current Honorary Treasurer for IChemE Australia. Paul also holds positions on two Industry panels for IChemE which include accreditation of Universities and Company Training Schemes.
Paul has also been a Presenter at Chemeca and Hazards Australasia on several occasions.
