Ben is from Auburn, Alabama, and graduated from The Citadel in 1986 with a BS in Civil Engineering. In 1993, he completed a Masters at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Ohio. He served 26 years in the Air Force at 13 locations and four command positions. He is a registered engineer in the state of Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia and has skills in construction, facility repair, budgeting, program development, emergency management and leadership. After retiring in 2012 he worked in higher education in Charleston and with the Federal Emergency Management Agency near Winchester Virginia. He purchased a franchise and established Global Recruiters of Charlottesville in 2021. As managing partner of the firm, he focuses on finding talent to meet engineering requirements around the United States, but primarily in the Southeastern US.
