Amanda Posila, MPH, is a visionary leader committed to promoting social change and building inclusive, hopeful communities. Amanda is the Director of Prevention and Community Engagement for The Center for Family Justice’s (CFJ), providing strategic leadership and expertise to prevention, training, and community engagement initiatives.
Since 2016, Amanda has led CFJ’s nationally acclaimed Pathways to HOPE – Bridgeport program. Pathways to HOPE is an evidence based summer camp and yearlong mentoring program to provide pathways to hope and healing for children and youth impacted by trauma. By envisioning a world without violence or abuse, Amanda and her team demonstrate a commitment to prevention by investing in the future of children and youth.
Amanda leads CFJ’s first Training Institute and expertly facilitates Connecticut’s comprehensive 40+ hour state mandated domestic and sexual violence training that focuses on best practices in intervention, advocacy, and prevention. By instilling a sense of responsibility and providing practical skills, she catalyzes individuals to serve as effective agents of change in combating these pervasive forms of violence.
Amanda's leadership extends to community mobilization efforts, such as the White Ribbon Campaign, which she initiated in 2008. This campaign aims to engage men and boys in the prevention of violence against women and girls, highlighting the importance of collective action in addressing gender-based violence.
Amanda's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with minors in women's studies and criminal justice, as well as a Master of Public Health with a concentration in community health education and promotion, both from Southern Connecticut State University. With 23 years of experience at CFJ, Amanda’s expertise and passion inspire others to become advocates for change, driving progress towards a future free from violence and oppression.
