Bio
Daisuke HARADA entered Japan National Oil Corporation (JNOC) in 1997. As an economist, he
was engaged in several projects in Asia and Oceania and in the internal task-force for the upstream asset purchase between JNOC and private entities.
In 2003, He was seconded to the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, in charge of establishment of bilateral and multilateral relations between Asian countries focusing on People’s Republic of China, Republic of India and ASEAN countries in energy affairs.
In 2006, as soon as he returned from Ministry to JOGMEC (JNOC and Metal Mines Agency of
Japan merged in 2004), he was appointed as Deputy Director of Moscow Representative Office and worked for starting up upstream JVs in East Siberia. In 2010, he entered the graduate school of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, and completed the master’s degree in economics and management in 2012.
After six years career in Russia, he came back to Tokyo and has been appointed as a regional
specialist and economist for projects in Russia and CIS, continuously researches the multilateral relations and geopolitics between Russia, US, EU, China and Japan, and also providing intelligence services to Japanese Government and private entities. Currently he is also in charge of Arctic LNG-2 project (NOVATEK) and Vostok Oil project (Rosneft).
