Dr. Raphael Pfeffer is the Head of Oncology Institute at Assuta Medical Centers. He completed his medical studies, including BSc Immunology, at UCH Medical School in London. He went on from there to do his residency in clinical oncology and radiotherapy at Hadassah Medical center, Jerusalem. He has been a clinical and research fellow with the Harvard Joint Center for Radiotherapy. His research projects include the effects of combined modality therapy of radiation with chemotherapy and hyperthermia and the combination of novel biological agents with radiotherapy. Clinical projects include stereotactic irradiation for both CNS and non-CNS tumors and MR-guided focused ultrasound in cancer treatment. Participated in EORTC Radiotherapy Group clinical studies and other locally initiated and international clinical studies. DR Pfeffer has published over 100 scientific articles on clinical and research aspects of cancer and radiotherapy.
