Joshua Dinaburg, PE, is a Mechanical Engineer with nineteen years’ experience. He is the Fire Test Specialist for the CSA Group, with a primary focus on fire hazards of energy storage systems including the design and operation of a fire test laboratory used for testing and certification of lithium-ion battery energy storage systems. Mr. Dinaburg has designed, developed, and implemented a variety of research and testing programs in fire detection, signaling, and suppression including evaluation of fire hazards from electrical equipment, energy storage systems, flammable liquid commodities, residential cooking, wildfire, and 3D printed materials. Other test programs have included analytical and full-scale evaluation of aspiration and spot smoke detection, beam smoke detection, video smoke and flame detection, optical flame detection, and low frequency alarm signaling effectiveness.
