Bio
Io is a chartered engineer in digital health, specialised in intelligent system design, user adoption and adherence to technology. She has interdisciplinary background in technology and respiratory health, both in the industry and academia. She started her early career as an engineering consultant in intelligent system design and joined the University of Edinburgh in 2014, completed her PhD in 2018. She has developed and piloted a connected system to support asthma self-management, exploring the trust and user behaviours between artificial intelligence(AI), patients and clinicians in support self-management, and it’s clinical effectiveness to patients. She is experienced in piloting and implementing digital technology in primary care practices and hospitals.
