Dr. Kaymak is a board-certified ophthalmologist & eye surgeon. He is head surgeon for the field of retina, macula and vitreous body surgery at Breyer, Kaymak & Klabe Eye surgery – one of the largest private ophthalmology practices / eye clinic in Germany.
He studied medicine at University of Tübingen and Heidelberg, then specialized as ophthalmologist and ophthalmologic surgeon. Since 2017 he is head of the medical retina department of Breyer, Kaymak & Klabe in Düsseldorf, where he started in 2010 as partner and senior consultant ophthalmologist.
Asides to his expertise in retinal diseases such as nAMD and diabetic retinopathy, he is also one of the leading experts for eye therapies including nano-laser treatment, innovative combination therapies and minimally invasive operations (such as G27).
Dr. Kaymak has a track record in research and holds strong experience in clinical trials ranging from phase 2 to phase 4 in various ophthalmologic specialties. He runs co-operations for the International Vision Correction Research Center Networks of the University Hospital Heidelberg and is head of the research institute International Innovative Ophthalmologic surgery (I.I.O.), Düsseldorf.
Next to research, he is also carrying out teaching activities at ophthalmology department of Saarland University since 2018.
