Melody Smith is a dedicated professional with a passion for advocating for women in leadership roles. With a career spanning nearly two decades in the criminal justice system, she has held various roles that have allowed her to make a meaningful impact. Starting as a GED instructor at the Cook County Department of Corrections in 2003, Melody's journey led her to become a Correctional Rehabilitation Counselor in 2008 before transitioning to the role of Probation Officer in the Home Confinement Unit at Cook County Adult Probation in 2015. In 2022, Melody's hard work and dedication were recognized as she was promoted to Supervisor in the Home Confinement Unit, where she continues to lead and inspire her team. Throughout her time with Adult Probation, Melody has not only excelled in her roles but has also shared her expertise by training and speaking at workshops organized by the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA). Melody's commitment to personal and professional growth is evident in her educational achievements. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Columbia College and a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Roosevelt University.
