Bio
Lydia Soleil, Ph.D., provides 1:1 career consulting and directs professional and career development programming for postdoctoral fellows and scholars. She earned a doctoral degree in physiology from the University of California, Davis and a Bachelor of Science in biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Soleil has worked in a variety of positions in higher education, including several focused on the professional and career development of advanced degree seekers and holders. At Georgia Tech, Soleil created an NSF-funded graduate certificate in college teaching and academic job search support for doctoral candidates. At the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Soleil served as the inaugural graduate career consultant in the Career Center where she designed and implemented a plan for graduate student career services and programming. Soleil also served as the associate director of UCI's formerly named Instructional Resources Center where she helped create and teach a set of three graduate courses focused on college teaching and the academic job search.
