Doug's commitment extends to publications on statistics education, which include a College Board curriculum module on random sampling and random assignment (co-author), the Teacher's Edition forStatistics and Probability with Applications, 3rd edition (author), and media supplements to accompany The Practice of Statistics 5th and 6th editions (author and project manager). He has been a speaker at regional and national mathematics education conferences, including NCTM and state conferences.

Outside of work, Doug likes to spend time with his family, hunt and fish, eat corn dogs, and make snow with his homemade snow-making machine.
