Nick Montoni is a Senior Program Director at the Center on the Policy and Markets team. Nick brings over a decade of experience in policy development, policy implementation, and the physical sciences through roles at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. House of Representatives, and non-profit think-tanks. Nick previously worked at the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy as its Deputy Chief of Staff, managing cross-functional teams to deliver a nearly $3 billion R&D budget. Nick also staffed the House Energy and Water Development Appropriations Subcommittee, handling DOE’s science and innovation accounts totaling more than $15 billion, and worked for Congressman David Price of NC on matters including energy, environment, agriculture, nutrition, and telecommunications. Outside of work, Nick enjoys baking and running marathons.
