Farhana Yamin

Lawyer, Author, Speaker, Activist, and Associate Fellow, Chatham House

An internationally recognised lawyer, author, speaker and social justice activist, Farhana has advised leaders and countries on climate negotiations for 30 years. In addition to founding Track 0 she is an FSRA, an associate fellow at Chatham House, a former visiting professor at University College London and a Senior Adviser at Systemiq. She was adviser to the Marshall Islands for the Paris Agreement negotiations and her campaigning work is widely credited with helping the formation of the High Ambition Coalition and for getting the goal of net-zero emission by 2050 into the Paris Agreement. She joined Extinction Rebellion in November 2018 and was their Political Coordinator for 2019, glueing herself to the HQ of oil giant Shell during the April Rebellion. She continues to work closely with frontline countries including advising the 48 members of the Climate Vulnerable Forum. She is currently Coordinator of Camden Think & Do, a community hub for social justice and climate action and sits on various boards and Commissions.
