Juan Gómez is currently a teacher in his 23rd year in the classroom. During that time he has been fortunate to teach a wide variety of courses, but is currently teaching Integrated Math 1, Advanced Placement Statistics, and Advanced Mathematical Decision Making (also known as Advanced Quantitative Reasoning). In addition to his work in the classroom, Juan has been fortunate to participate in a variety of local and regional initiatives, including the California Department of Education's Literature List for Math & Science, reviewing test items for the Smarter Balanced Consortium, and has presented at the California Math Council's North conference, PCTM's virtual conference, and NCTM's Virtual Conference. Currently Juan is a volunteer with Open Intro's Advanced High School Statistics project, helps with translating math curriculum, and is thinking about ways to help students think about statistics as a necessary tool to navigate modern society.
