Paralympic gold medallist, Co-Founder at The ABILITY PEOPLE
Bio
Liz Johnson is a European Champion, four-time World Champion, and gold medal winning Paralympic swimmer. She is also a respected businesswoman and disability campaigner, whose ultimate mission is to close the UK’s 28.6% disability employment gap.
After retiring from swimming, Liz founded the first disability-led employment consultancy called The Ability People. TAP works with organisations from HSBC to Chelsea FC to transform their approach to diversity, and help them achieve authentic inclusivity.
In 2018 Liz’s work at TAP was recognised by the prestigious BBC 100 Women list, and in 2019 she participated in an award-winning United Nations campaign with the Paralympic Committee.
Now, she has launched Podium, a unique jobs platform designed specifically to empower disabled freelancers to access flexible employment opportunities. The platform is the first of its kind to cater to new remote ways of working, whilst connecting talented disabled workers to meaningful work which meets their needs.
