Bio
Kayte Cwikla-Masas, Director of Youth and Adult Services, has been at The Center for Family Justice for thirteen years. Kayte started her advocacy work at the Bridgeport Golden Hill Courthouse as a Family Violence Victim Advocate working on the domestic violence docket with family violence victims. Kayte then supervised the criminal and civil court Family Violence Victim Advocates for four years before transitioning over to the Multidisciplinary Team. In her current role, Kayte coordinates the forensic interviews and other team activities for child abuse investigations. Kayte is the Lethality Assessment Program coordinator, has sat on the Task Force to Study the State’s Response to Minors Exposed to Domestic Violence, and is POST certified to teach domestic violence to law enforcement. She co-chairs the Executive Committee of the Greater Bridgeport Multidisciplinary Team. Kayte also supervises the Domestic and Sexual Violence Community Advocacy, LatinX Domestic Violence Community Services and Crisis Services Units.

Kayte earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven. She has presented to many different audiences on topics such as domestic violence, sexual violence, court response to domestic violence, strangulation, and child abuse. In 2017, Kayte was one of Fairfield County’s “40 Under 40” winners.
