Ian has an incredible passion for leveraging technology to improve the process of how major building projects are designed, constructed, and delivered.
He is highly skilled in assisting clients through strategic and technical challenges in the delivery of digital solutions and construction project phases. In providing innovative solutions that drive increased productivity, efficiency, and reduce risk in delivery, Ian’s technical experience is vast. His experience extends to writing custom software processes to automate project tasks, advising project-specific workflows, and providing teams with adequate training in all necessary BIM software applications, best practices, and coordination procedures to ensure the project BIM is delivered to the highest possible quality.
Prior to joining Willow, Ian led the BIM practice at Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects (KPF) in New York, guiding the digital strategy and BIM implementation on some of the firm’s most high-profile domestic and international projects. Ian played a key role in the BIM implementation of One Vanderbilt Avenue, a Class-A office tower in New York with below-grade connection to Grand Central Terminal.
Before his time at KPF, Ian worked as a designer and BIM lead at the New York office of NELSON Architects, a full-service architecture and engineering firm whose services include BIM solutions for facilities and asset management. He has also authored online training courses in advanced BIM software applications on Lynda.com
