Monika Freyman

Vice President, Sustainable Investing | Addenda Capital

Monika Freyman leads the team responsible for orchestrating an authentic and holistic approach to the four pillars of sustainable investing at Addenda, namely integration of ESG factors into investment decisions, qualification of securities for impact and climate transition, corporate stewardship and promotion of sustainable capital markets. With a background both in science and finance, Monika strives to bring an evidence-based approach to Sustainable Investing. Prior to joining Addenda, she worked as the Head of Sustainable Investing in a large consulting firm where she supported asset owners in developing sustainable investing and climate policies and strategies. Earlier in her career, she launched the Investor Water Hub and Investor Water Toolkit as a Director at Ceres, a sustainability research and advocacy firm.

Monika holds a CFA designation as well as a Master of Sciences from Loyola University in Chicago. In addition, she is a Board Member of the CFA Institute Board of Regents and supports professional development activities on ESG. Monika is also serving as an Advisory Committee Member on the Committee on Integrating ESG Factors in Pension Plan Supervision for the Canadian Association of Pension Supervisory Authorities (CAPSA) and on the Valuing Water Advisory Committee for the Government of the Netherlands.
