Graduating from Trent Polytechnic in Nottingham, UK in engineering along with completing a five-year apprenticeship program as a tool maker for the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence, prepared John Allen for a career in the marine stabilizer industry. He opened Quantum Marine Engineering/Quantum Marine Stabilizers, in Rhode Island in 1985 with two people and 35 years later has grown to 100 employees in two countries—United States and The Netherlands.
John has always been very philanthropic between sponsorships and donations with a keen awareness of those in need. He was awarded Business Person of the Year by the International Superyacht Society in 2016 and continues to be an industry icon.
