Bio
Gregg unexpectedly discovered his love of waste reduction when a friend asked him to drive a tractor for a budding college compost program at the University of New Hampshire. Fast forward a bunch of years and he is now the Business Sustainability Outreach Coordinator at the City of Gresham. Gregg coordinates the Gresham Green Business program which provides sustainability and waste reduction technical assistance to businesses. He also oversees commercial waste reduction outreach.
Over the past 15 years Gregg has worked with various aspects of waste reduction, from teaching composting to farmers in Zambia as a Peace Corps volunteer, to coordinating Clark County’s Save Organic Scraps school composting and recycling program. He currently serves as the Education Chair for the Association of Oregon Recyclers, and oversees their Recycling 101 online course. This comprehensive offering has been taken by people across Oregon and Washington as well as by people on all continents except Antarctica.
In his volunteer life, Gregg is also a former Volunteer Coordinator and Green Streets coordinator with Surfrider’s Portland Chapter.
