Michael is currently a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and the Labour Ward Lead at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. He is an ambassador for Essity and led a project, reducing Caesarean Section SSI rates by 45% and readmission bed days by 61%.
Michael has an extensive background in leadership and patient safety. He has undertaken a Darzi Fellowship in Clinical Leadership in Healthcare, obtaining a PGCert with Distinction and whilst working at NHS Resolution published the national report; ‘Learning from Five Years of Cerebral Palsy Claims’. He is the Honorary Vice Chairman of the Baby Lifeline MultiProfessional Advisory Panel and is part of the review team for the Ockenden independent maternity reviews.
