Mr Washer joined Sovereign Housing Association as chief executive in June 2018. Previously he had been chief financial Ooficer at Clarion Housing Group, a position he had held for 17 years.
Outside of his executive roles, Mr Washer was a board member of the National Housing Federation until 2017, where he was vice chair. He was also a non-executive director of Citizens Advice nationally, where he was treasurer and chaired the Audit and Risk Committee.
