Bio
Hilde van de Meer is Commissioner for Foreign Investments at the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA). She joined NFIA in July 2021 and is responsible for general management of the NFIA headquarters in The Hague, as well as its 27 offices abroad.
Hilde began her career in investment promotion and regional economic development at the Schiphol Area Development Company (SADC) where she was Director of Marketing & Sales. In 2007, she became Managing Director for Amsterdam inbusiness (aib), the investment promotion agency for the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. She was also Deputy Director of Economic Affairs for the City of Amsterdam.
Hilde studied Japanese language and culture at Leiden University (1991 – 1995). During her study, she worked at the Japanese school of Amsterdam as a Dutch teacher (1987 – 1996). She lived in Tokyo from 1984-1986.
