Jason Brewer has over 28 years’ experience in international mining, financial markets and
investment banking.
Mr Brewer is a qualified mining engineer, obtaining a Master’s degree, with Honours, from
the Royal School of Mines at Imperial College of Science and Technology, London University
and has worked in both underground and open-cast mining operations in the UK, Australia,
Canada and South Africa.
Mr Brewer holds a Masters in Law, specialising in Mineral Law and Policy from Dundee
University’s Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy in Scotland.
Mr Brewer has worked for a number of major global investment banks, including Dresdner
Kleinwort Benson, Dresdner Bank AG, NM Rothschild & Sons (Australia) Limited and Investec
Bank (Australia) Limited in London, and based in Sydney and Perth, where he was
responsible for structuring and arranging corporate and project financing facilities for
mining and exploration companies with a particular focus on developing new projects and
mines throughout Africa.
He gained experience in funds management and private equity investment with Australian
Stock Exchange listed mining focused LinQ Resources Fund and with the establishment and
management of major resource private equity fund Taurus Fund LLP managing its Perth
Office in Western Australia.
Mr Brewer is the founder and principle of Mayflower Capital Investments, an active, private
equity-style investment company, focused on the mining and metals sector opportunities in
Africa and with offices in London, Perth and Johannesburg. Mayflower originates and
structures transactions, provides early stage capital, and works closely with local partners,
and private publicly-listed companies to provide early stage capital, structure, management
and a clear path to international capital markets.
Mr Brewer is the Finance Director of London Stock Exchange listed Caracal Gold plc which is
the 100% shareholder of Kilimapesa Gold Pty Limited and which operates the Kilimapesa
Gold Mining and Processing Operations in Narok County, Kenya. Carcaal Gold plc is currently
completing a dual listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange and will be the first mining
company to be listed on the exchange when it lists at the end of September 2021.
Mr Brewer has held the roles of Managing Director, Chairman and Non-Executive Director of
several London Stock Exchange, Australian Stock Exchange and Frankfurt Stock Exchange
listed mining and exploration companies including, Caracal Gold plc, De Grey Mining
Limited, Universal Resources Limited, Terramin Limited, Continental Coal Limited, Kaboko
Mining Limited, Kupang Resources Limited, Black Mountain Resources Limited, Global Oil
