Obi Emelonye is the writer, producer and director of ‘The Oratory.’ He is a passionate, self-taught writer, director, and producer with a multi-disciplinary approach to filmmaking. Obi is a lecturer in filmmaking at the University of Huddersfield and a doctoral researcher in film at Goldsmiths University of London.
He is a member of the premier guild of UK film directors- Directors UK, as well as a member of the British Film Institute (BFI). Obi’s film credits include: Black Mail, The Mirror Boy, Last Flight to Abuja, Money Miss Road, Badamasi, Onye Ozi, and Oxford Gardens. Obi is a visionary British-based Nigerian who has quickly gained an enviable reputation as one of the brightest creative minds working within Nigeria's burgeoning film industry, Nollywood.
