Bio
Dr Martin gained his B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Southampton and received his PhD in Genetics from the National Institute of Medical Research, Mill Hill, London in 1983. Following post-doctoral positions at University of Washington, Seattle, the University of Sussex and the University of Sheffield, in 1994 Robin moved to lead a combined team of scientists and surgeons at the Blond McIndoe Research centre (sadly now closed) at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead. In 2002, Dr Martin joined Smith & Nephew Advanced Wound Management and held a variety of senior Clinical & Scientific Affairs roles over 15 years working on medical devices such as VERSAJET, BIOBRANE, RENASYS and PICO.
In 2018 Dr Martin established himself as an independent freelance Scientific Consultant working with clients across a wide range of Wound healing and Reconstructive Surgery topics. He is the author/co-author of 65 papers, articles, books and patents.
