Bio
Emma was an Assistant Head Teacher and SENCO at a large primary school. During her 17 years as a teacher, Emma gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise with regard to how children learn, with her particular passion for teaching literacy. She earned qualifications in supporting children’s early literacy development.
This was how Emma came to spot a gap in the market; there were no literacy resources available which taught children the fundamentals of punctuation, vocabulary and sentence structure in a visual, fun and engaging way, like she did in her own classroom.
Along with her husband, David, she developed Mighty Writer and launched in 2016. It is now transforming the literacy of over 250,000 children in 40 countries.
Emma also spends much of her time looking after the rest of the Mighty Writer team: their son William and their young twins, Amelie and Sophia.
