Co-Managing Partner, Surface Ventures

Gyan joined Surface Ventures in early 2020 and became co-Managing Partner of Surface Seed, Surface Ventures’ fund dedicated to investing in seed and pre-seed stage companies, later in 2020. Prior to joining Surface Seed, Gyan ran Bayes Ventures, an early stage fund with a similar focus. Prior to Bayes Ventures, Gyan was a Vice President at Activate Venture Partners (first investor in Medidata, a $6bb exit) and an active angel investor.Gyan graduated from the MBA program at the Wharton School of Business. Before Wharton, Gyan worked for Gather Health, a chronic disease management startup, and Citigroup where he built and scaled businesses in foreign exchange derivatives, focusing on complex products.
