David is a Divisional Officer working for South Lanarkshire Council, he is an elected Charity Trustee for REHIS. REHIS is the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland. This is the professional awarding body of the protected title “Environmental Health Officer EHO” and “Chartered EHO”. He started as a Student EHO in December 1988, and has predominantly worked in Scotlands central belt for a number of local authorities but also worked in the private sector (on shore and off shore). Returning to Local Authority in 2002 to try to ”make a difference”. David was made a Fellow of the Institute in 2016 and has been a Chartered EHO since 2004. David was elected President of REHIS (Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland) in 2018-2019.
David has various Noise Qualifications including the Institute of Acoustics (IoA) Noise Diploma, Certificate(s) of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement; Anti Social Behaviour Noise; Building Acoustics and holds a BSc(Hons) Environmental Health (Dissertation was on Industrial Noise). He is the lead for all aspects of Noise Enforcement for South Lanarkshire Council and has over 30 year’s enforcement experience in Local Authority.
