Eileen Mooney is a PhD student at Michigan State University in Educational Psychology and Educational Technology and a mathematics teacher at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Connecticut. She is interested in both online and face-to-face discourse in mathematics class, in constructing GeoGebra applets to develop meaning making of mathematical terms, in creating equitable learning environments, and in the ways through which common cultural misconceptions of what mathematics is and how it should be taught can change for the better.
