Douglas currently works at Abbott, a leading global healthcare company, as Director of packaging engineering & innovation.
He leads packaging for the established pharmaceuticals division based in Basel, Switzerland.
Doug has worked in the packaging and graphics industry for over 30 years working in the beverage, household product, food retail and confectionery industries designing packaging.
He has twice won the World Packaging Organisation’s “WorldStar” Packaging award as well as the UK’s “StarPack” design awards.
He was a judge on the UK’s “Packaging industry” awards and the global “Metal packaging design of the year” awards.
Doug was also a visiting lecturer at Nottingham University in the UK, lecturing on packaging innovation as well as being an expert consultant to “The Soil Association™” advising on the sustainability of packaging.
