Katrina Kelly-Pitou, PhD, is an energy systems strategist at SmithGroup in Pittsburgh. Pulling together engineers, computer, and environmental scientists, the Systems group focuses on bridging the gaps between the technical and social development needed to future-proof cities across the globe. Her work focuses specifically on low-carbon and resilient infrastructure designs. In addition to her postdoctoral research in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, Katrina holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham in energy development studies, a masters in IR and environmental studies from Hult International Business School, and a BA/BSc in economics from Duquesne University. Katrina is a frequent publisher in IEEE, and an affiliate scholar of interdisciplinary studies at Pitt and Nottingham.
