Capt. Taylor completed a 40 year commercial sea going career in 2016, now repurposed as a volunteer captain with Mercy Ships. Taylor's association with Mercy Ships began in 1985, when he began using some of his vacation time to volunteer on board the ships. He met his wife on board in 1988, who had already been serving with Mercy Ships for 11!
