First elected into politics at 21 years of age then as chief at 25, leadership over 30 yrs.

While in office, he has gained experience in Business, and Governance. Wallace has strived to create economic, financial independence for Onion Lake Cree Nation, while continuing to practice Cree traditional ceremonies and implementing these traditions in his approach. Chief Fox acknowledges these teachings that have been passed on to him from wise traditional knowledge keepers.

Some of Chief Fox’s achievements include:

- Developed first gas Co-op in North America, utilizing First Nation Natural Gas.
- Negotiated 200 million dollar SAGD with Black Pearl.
- Winning Bill C 27 court case where the Federal Government took Onion Lake Cree Nation to federal court, so he is very familiar with Federal and Provincial Government processes
- Assisted in the establishment of Gold Horse Casino in Lloydminster

Lobbying and negotiating with Chiefs and Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) and the Province of Saskatchewan.
- Quadrupling Onion Lake’s Asset value during his tenure
- Without the billion barrels of heavy oil in the ground.
- The First First Nation to have a cell tower on Indian reserve.
- Signed MOU with Minister of Health Jane Philpott.
- Under TLE, we put 80,000 acres into reserve in Sask.
- Created Onion Lake Energy (OLE holds all exploration rights from Onion Lake Cree Nation.
- Onion Lake Energy farmed out a drilling program to BP, another First in First Nations Country

Wallace has presented at the United Nations, on behalf of Treaty 6 people’s both in Geneva and New York, numerous times. He has traveled on economic trade missions to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Germany, England and others.
