Daan Walter is a Principal at Ember, leading strategy research on the future of energy. His work focuses on forecasting the rapid growth of electrotech, including solar PV, batteries, and digitization, and analyzing its strategic impacts. Previously, he was a Principal at RMI, where he led global research on batteries, efficiency, and mineral demand. At McKinsey, he co-founded the Sustainability Analytics team, advising governments and Fortune 500 companies on the energy transition. Daan holds graduate degrees in Nuclear Energy and Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor's degree in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Amsterdam.
