Gregory Sossaman, MD

Senior Medical Director, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Intermountain Health

Greg Sossaman received an M.D. from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and then completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology followed by a cytopathology fellowship at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. After fellowship, he entered private practice in New Orleans until joining Ochsner Health in December 2005. Dr. Sossaman served initially as section head of clinical pathology and eventually as the Chair of the department in 2010 and also served as the Service line lead and System Chair of Clinical Pathology until 2024. In December 2024, he joined Intermountain Health as Senior Medical Director- Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. He has been involved in organized medicine since early in residency, beginning with the CAP residents forum and then the ASCP Fellows Council early in his career. Since then, has served on ASCP committees and commissions, the Board of Directors, and then Vice President, President-Elect and President for 2024-2025. He became involved with the Compass group and joined the Board of Directors, becoming President in 2022.
