Bio
▸ Mark Main is a Director in Ernst & Young’s (EY) UK Valuation Modelling and Economics (VME) team within Strategy and Transactions (SAT). He is the Lead for EY’s Transport & Logistics as part of the wider Advanced Manufacturing and Mobility (AMM) Sector.
▸ As a member of the VME team Mark has responsibility for Capital Equipment valuation advice and audit support to a range of UK, European and North American Lessors.
▸ Mark is also a member of EY’s UK Leasing Centre of Excellence team.
▸ He has over 17 years’ experience in the valuation and disposal of plant, machinery, equipment and other fixed assets for a range of purposes including corporate recovery, market value and disposal, asset-based lending opinions, equipment sector appraisals, purchase price allocation and compulsory purchase and compensation issues.
▸ Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Mark ran GE Capital EMEAs Asset Management team for 8 years, with responsibility for plant and machinery valuations, residual setting and structuring of asset backed lending deals (ABLs).
▸ 3 years working at a UK Firm of Chartered surveyors, as a machinery and business assets valuation surveyor in UK, Europe, Asia and North America.
▸ He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
▸ Mark has worked in industrial and commercial equipment, medical, construction and transport asset sectors with assignments throughout Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan the Middle East and the UK including:
▸ Extensive experience of market value and secured lending advice to specialist international lending institutions and lessors, including asset and market sector reports, asset remarketing strategies, impairment and stress testing reviews.
▸ Valuation of aircraft, rail and transport assets, manufacturing facilities, construction equipment and telecoms networks for accounting, sale and insolvency and expert witness cases.
