Stephan Simon is a Senior Expert and case manager for mergers in the directorate dealing with service industries, in particular in transport and postal services. He has led the investigations in all container liner shipping mergers at EU level over the past five years.
Prior to his current task he was a Deputy Head of Unit in the field of antitrust and has dealt with cases and complaints under both Article 101 and Article 102, with a particular expertise in the area of vertical restraints. Stephan joined the European Commission in 1995 when he took up a post in the unit of DG ECFIN dealing with competition and competitiveness.
