Kim Vawter was born in Australia, raised in the Midwest and now resides in Santa Barbara, CA. Kim graduated from Purdue University and has a Masters in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University. She is a former Teach for America corps member & spent 8 years as a teacher & school administrator in Los Angeles. She left education in 2015 to hike the Pacific Crest Trail & then started her career in outdoor adventure as an outdoor educator & tour guide with the Santa Barbara Adventure Company (SBACo). She is now General Manager for SBACo which owns & operates the Channel Islands Adventure Company, the sole concessionaire for sea cave kayaking within Channel Islands National Park, and Santa Barbara Wine Country Tours.
