Senior Laboratory Safety Specialist and Chemical Hygiene Officer, Office of Environmental Health & Radiation Safety, University of Pennsylvania

Kimi Brown is the senior laboratory safety specialist and chemical hygiene officer for the University of Pennsylvania. Kimi has worked in the Office of Environmental Health and Radiation Safety (EHRS) at Penn for the past 10 years. Before joining EHRS, Kimi spent five years at Merck & Co. Inc. as a medicinal chemist in West Point, PA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and master’s degree in environmental protection and safety management. Kimi is a Certified Chemical Hygiene Officer, a Certified Safety Professional, and an Associate in Risk Management. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of The Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) and on the Executive Committee of the Division of Chemical Health and Safety (DCHAS) of the American Chemical Society (ACS).
