Bio
Nolan Fossum has been a mathematics teacher and leader for over two decades. His teaching experience ranges from middle grades through university. Nolan began facilitating professional learning experiences for teachers with the Irvine Math Project in 2004. Nolan authored a chapter in the 2022 NCTM publication “Success Stories from Catalyzing Change.”
Nolan’s greatest takeaway from that time is that student engagement and motivation are highest when teachers center culture and relationship building. Nolan loves conversations about disrupting, dismantling, and reimagining the school experience and especially the mathematics classroom.
