Kara began her first piano lesson at four years old with her mother. When she was six years old, she began studying with Sylvia Hsieh and later with concert pianist Tien Hsieh. Under their tutelage, Kara received first place at the CAPMT Honors State Competition, Category A, 2020; CAPMT Honors District V Competition, 2020; US Open Music Competition Open Solo, 2020; and CAPMT Go for the Gold Music Competition, 2018 and 2019. Kara also participates in various local music festivals and performs at the Charis Senior Center regularly. She is currently a fourth-grade student at Theodore Judah Elementary School. Besides music, Kara enjoys reading, creative writing, and playing with her older brother.
