Melissa Mehall has a B.B.A. from The McCombs Business School at the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. Melissa practiced corporate transactional law at K&L Gates LLP and Holland & Knight LLP full time for many years, then slowing down to part-time when her children were little. In 2013 the idea for Meli’s Monster Cookies was born while Melissa was working part-time, and she and her best friend, Melissa Blue, founded Meli’s Monster Cookies. The Meli’s recipe came from a family recipe that happened to be naturally gluten-free and been loved and eaten for years. Meli’s first launched in Central Market in 2013 and now have grown into approximately 6,000 stores nationwide, including them being Target, Walmart and Kroger. The Meli’s lines include 10 product SKUs between Meli’s Mini Cookies, Meli’s Cookie Mixes, and Meli’s Ready-to-Eat Frozen Cookies. The Melissas’ always enjoy helping other entrepreneurs through advice and mentorship as many mentors helped them along their CPG path in the past.
