With 29 years of nursing experience, Joanne has a strong clinical background in District Nursing and has specialised in tissue viability for the past 17 years as a Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). Her extensive experience includes supporting patients with delayed wound healing, including women experiencing complications following caesarean section surgery.
In 2022, Joanne joined University of Huddersfield as a Senior University Practitioner, where she leads teaching and learning in tissue viability, leg ulcer management, and independent prescribing. Her professional interests include maintaining skin integrity, multidisciplinary collaboration, research and the delivery of high-quality community-based care. Joanne also holds an honorary contract as a Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist with Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust .
