With over 45 years of experience in product engineering—out of which are 30 years in factory automation—Mr. Robert Humphreys is an international sales manager at Fastems, a supplier of intelligent factory automation solutions for metalworking manufacturers. His mission is to help metalworking companies make successful business in rapidly-changing markets with automation and digitalization. Mr. Humphreys has been working with Fastems since 1999, first as the sales manager of the U.K. operation then as managing direcor of Fastems Ltd. before moving to the U.S. in 2006 as part of an expansion of Fastems business in North America. Before Fastems, Mr. Humphreys has worked in the machine tool world offering turnkey engineering and flexible manufacturing system (FMS) solutions. Prior to that, he worked as a program manager and a planning engineer in aerospace and defense contract manufacturers.
