Demetria Brown is the mother of five children Orelle, Gabrielle, Reginald along with Jakoby and Linda Martin. She has 5 grandchildren. She completed her undergraduate and graduate degree at the University of Southern Mississippi. Ms. Brown has a broad range of career experience. She has 15 years of clinical care experience and healthcare management. Thereafter, she started her own consulting business where she consulted for the U.S. Department of Commerce, MBDA, grant funded program MSMBEC. She was promoted to the associate director position and began working with million dollar companies. She helped procure approximately $5 million in grant funds. After the loss of her husband, she became a substitute teacher and was offered the opportunity to become a full-time teacher with Long Beach School District. During her tenure at Long Beach High, she has established an award winning program which has received many accolades. She has established various innovative programs and initiatives including but not limited to a family and consumer science internship program, Blue Economy initiative, FCCLA Entrepreneurship Center, FCCLA Student Small Business Festival, work based learning program and implemented the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. She serves as the advisor for FCCLA, NTHS and Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. In addition, she is a Fellow of The National Career Academy and is a Master Teacher of Entrepreneurship.
